Grainworks' Organic Brown Rice Flour is finely milled from long grain brown rice. Because rice flour naturally contains no gluten, it's a staple in gluten-free baking, with a somewhat sweet flavour. Brown rice flour is most often blended with other flours. Brown Rice Flour Facts Rice flour is a staple in Southeast Asia, Japan and India. It's continuing to gain in popularity here as a gluten-free flour option. Milling and polishing brown rice into white rice can destroy 60-90% of its B vitamins, so Brown rice flour contains a higher level of these. Rice flour adds insoluble fibre to recipes, with brown rice flour containing more fibre than white rice flour. Diets rich in fibre help you feel fuller and reduce hunger, which can assist with weight loss. Brown rice flour supplies magnesium, phosphorus and copper, potassium and manganese. It also supplies 20 percent of the recommended amount of iron for men and 9 percent for women. Please note: Though brown rice has no gluten, our brown rice flour is not guaranteed to be gluten-free as products containing gluten are ground with the same mills as the brown rice.
